While the annual conference provides a variety of formats and sessions for dabbling in different topics, practices, research agendas, and field-wide issues, the 75-minute window for those sessions limits how much we can learn from colleagues and experts. The workshops that bookend the conference and the regional workshops held across the country throughout the year provide VSA members and those interested in informal learning more time to deeply discuss topics, learn and then practice new methods or techniques, as well as better connect with the colleagues sitting next to them.

Conference Workshops - Held before and after the conference, workshop leaders come from a broad range of fields to present full and half day sessions that are lively, interactive, relevant, and offer participants the opportunity to broaden their knowledge and skills in studying or enhancing the experiences of visitors, participants, and audiences. Check out what workshops are being offered at this year's conference, and consider registering.

Regional Workshops - VSA tries to host at least two workshops each year that draw together colleagues from a local community. Often building upon interesting sessions and workshops from the Annual Conference, the half and full day workshops are a more economical way to receive professional development for many members and non-members than attending the conference across the country.

Consider participating in workshops, either as a presenter or as a student. If you have a topic you would like to learn or teach, let us know!

Upcoming Regional Workshops

At this time, there are no regional workshops scheduled. The Professional Development Committee is looking to arrange two workshops after the annual meeting. Check back in late July to find out more!
